Sunny Bank Koi's Story
A hobby spiralled out of control
It all began in 2007 when cousins Sam and Neil constructed their first ponds in a polytunnel and started importing koi directly from Japan. Their passion quickly grew and Sunny Bank Koi was born out of their shared love for these swimming jewels.
Our first shop
In 2019, we took the next step by opening our first shop at Congleton Garden Centre, quickly becoming a trusted one stop shop for all pond and aquarium needs.
The big move
In 2023, an exciting new opportunity emerged – a storefront nestled in the heart of our local high street, bringing us even closer to our community. It's unusual for Japanese koi specialists to open a shop on the high street, but it felt like the right move for us. While we're passionate about Japanese koi, our scope extends beyond that.
